Legal Terms and Conditions
Aena, S.M.E., S.A. (“Aena”), with registered office in Madrid at Calle Peonías, 12 and tax identification number A86212420, the world's leading airport operator in terms of passenger volume, guest experience, capacity and professional team, is holding, through its airports’ general sales and property department, the 2nd edition of its international travel retail awards: The Enjoy Aena Awards.
Purpose
With these awards, Aena, which currently manages 64 airports worldwide and hosts more than 100 retail operators, aims to:
Requirements
All retailers (dining, services, retail shops, car hire and advertising operators) operating in Aena may apply for the 2nd edition of the Enjoy Aena Awards, in any of categories 1-7, making their candidacy official by submitting their application in the format and by the deadline indicated in the Legal Terms and Conditions. Candidates must apply as a brand, shop/establishment or service, indicating their trade name and the airport(s) they operate in. Candidates may apply for several categories.
All airports in the Aena network may participate in the Enjoy Aena Best Airport Award category by duly meeting the candidate requirements by the indicated deadlines.
Categories
A total of 10 awards will be handed out at the 2nd Enjoy Aena Awards:

This award will be granted to retailers that provide excellence in their work, commitment and customer service Candidates’ overall customer-focused business concept will be assessed, including their wait times, access to their space, their packaging, customer service, personalised service, cleanliness and comfort, their originality in design, layouttheir layout, differentiation and lighting, and their décor and materials. In addition, omni-channel integration, self-service, , sense of place, digital experience and automation will also be considered for the award.
This award will recognise excellence in implementing anEnvironmental, Social and Governance (ESG)model. The award will also take into account processes, tools and implementation of measures such as energy efficiency, waste management and recycling, responsible investment (environmental); compromiso social, diversidad e inclusión, acceso a servicios básicos, salud y bienestar de los empleados (); socialcommitment, diversity and inclusion, access to basic services, employee health and wellbeing (social); and investment in environmental technology,certifications and environmental audits (governance).The commitment of brands operating at the airport directly or through third parties will also be taken into consideration.
This award will reward excellence in the online and offline marketing strategies of the brands in the Aena airport network. Retailers will also be scored on the recognised original experience they use to draw in customers (retailtainment), brand building and attraction, use of the latest trends and tools, amplification in social media, impact and results.
This award will be given to the brand or service that stands out for having the most innovative commercial idea, model or concept and that has changed or improved the passenger experience at the airport. In addition to innovation, originality and creativity, quality of service and commercial offering, implementation of new technologies, seamless experience and visibility within the airport.
It recognises outstanding products and services designed to meet travellers’ specific and occasional needs. We will assess the innovation and variety of travel products and gadgets , as well as the incorporation of the latest trends reflecting the demands of Aena’s different traveller segments, making it the most practical shop at the airport.
This award will reward creativity in the ads posted in the airports. Aena will reward both the advertising agency and the advertising brand that created the most waves with their ad campaigns in 2024 and 2025. Creativity, originality and adaptation of the ads to the airport network will be taken into account. This will be a dual award, for both the brand and the advertising agency.
It recognises the continuous efforts of car hire to offer passengers the best car hire experience. They will be graded on their quality of customer service, facilities, ease of booking and integration of technology into the rental process, sustainability and maintenance of fleets, and communication and marketing campaigns.
This award will reward the work of travel influencers whose content contributes to the visibility of the airport sector. The award will take into account the profile and content of their social media accounts, their creativity and style, their number of followers, their reach and engagement, the brands they work with, and their organic content.
This award will be given to the best airport in each category in the Aena network based on range of services and commercial offering. Contestants will be graded on their new brands, variety and overall experience, their passenger satisfaction and on their specific plans to improve the perception of their commercial offering and boost their sales and retail penetration.
This honorary award, which will be presented directly by Aena, recognises the achievements of individuals or companies outside of the network.
The award
The winners of the Enjoy Aena Awards will be announced during the Awards Gala.
The awards may not be exchanged for other prizes or their economic equivalent and will consist of:
By accepting the prize, the winners expressly authorise Aena to publicise their status as winners, as well as the nominees of each category of the retail and airport awards, in the press and in Aena’s marketing media and channels.
The nominees in travel retail categories 1-7 that are not selected as winners will also receive a seal of recognition from Aena, which they can display in their physical and digital spaces, channels and social media for one year.
Jury
The Jury of the Enjoy Aena Awards will consist of 10 independent members: 9 experts from various fields and 1 honorary chair.
Aena may make the Jury of the Enjoy Aena Awards public on all the company’s channels and in the media as part of its communication strategy.
The Jury's will be charged with selecting the winners of categories 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 and 9. In the case of the Enjoy Aena Best Airport Award, the opinion of passengers will be taken into account.
Submission of applications
Aena has set up the landing page www.enjoyaenaawards.com for retailers, where they can download the application form for each category, which must be duly completed.
In addition, they may attach PDFs and PPTs (maximum 10 pages), videos and other graphic and/or audiovisual materials (maximum 1 minute in length ) to support their application. Rendering is strictly prohibited. The size of attachments may not exceed 20MB. Any claimed merits must be 100% implemented in the shops of the Aena airport network at the time of the application. Airports wishing to apply should indicate which category they are applying for (First category. Traffic in 2024 exceeding 12 million passengers; Second category. Traffic in 2024 between 2 and 12 million; Third category. Traffic in 2024 of less than 2 million passengers), and submit all the attachments as indicated in the application form.

The Enjoy Aena Committee reserves the right to extend the deadline for submitting applications, which it will communicate accordingly through the website and its own channels.
Legal terms
Nothing in this document creates any business obligation on the part of Aena to any participant in these awards.
Aena may communicate the necessary instructions to modify the content of the Legal Terms and Conditions, notifying each and every one of the participants in writing, up to a maximum of five business days before the submission of applications.
Participation in the Enjoy Aena Awards implies full and unconditional acceptance of all of these Legal Terms and Conditions. Failure to comply with these rules may result in the disqualification of the participant and the withdrawal of any prize awarded.
Aena will not be liable for any damage or losses that may arise from participating in the competition including, without limitation, technical problems, human error or any other type of incident that may affect the running of the competition. Aena reserves the right to cancel, modify or suspend the competition in the event of force majeure or for justified reasons affecting the normal running of the competition.
Applicants must bear any costs related to preparing and submitting their applications. They will also be liable for the consequences and costs arising from lack of knowledge or misinterpretation of these documents.
These Legal Terms and Conditions have been validated and deposited with Madrid notary public Dña. Alicia Velarde Valiente, which interested parties may access by submitting a request directly to Aena.

Fraud Prevention Clause
Aena reserves the right to disqualify and exclude from the Enjoy Aena Awards competition any candidature in which indications of fraud, manipulation or any type of irregular conduct are detected that could affect the transparency and legitimacy of the selection and evaluation process for the awards.
Conduct considered as fraud includes, without limitation:
If any of these behaviours are detected, Aena will immediately disqualify the candidate, reserving the right to take appropriate legal action and to publicly communicate the disqualification and the reasons for it.
Participation in the competition implies express acceptance of this clause by all participants.
Data protection
All participants are informed that the information and data they provide as part of their candidacy for these awards will be processed by Aena SME SA, as the organiser of these awards. The purpose is the management of these awards, with participation forming the legitimate basis for processing under Article 6(1)(b) of Regulation (EU) 2016/679 (the General Data Protection Regulation). The information provided will be accessible to those who manage these awards as well as to the members of the Jury, and may be reproduced, in part or in its entirety, at the awards ceremony.
It should also be noted, as stated in these terms and conditions, that the gala will be filmed and may be published in the company's online media. Therefore, those who attend the gala are informed of this in these terms and conditions.
Participants may exercise their rights of access, rectification, erasure, objection, portability and restriction of processing by sending an email to ocpd@aena.es, a través del Portal de Trámites y Reclamaciones en la web de Aena (www.aena.es), or by writing to the Central Data Protection Unit, C/ Peonías, 12 - 28042 Madrid.

Intellectual Property Clause
Participants warrant that they own all the intellectual property rights to the materials submitted in their application. By entering the competition, participants grant Aena a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to use, reproduce and disseminate the submitted materials for promotional and communication purposes in connection with the Enjoy Aena Awards.
Non-Disclosure Clause
Aena and the participants agree to maintain the confidentiality of any information and documentation exchanged in connection with the Enjoy Aena Awards. The information participants provide will only be used for the purposes of the competition and must not be disclosed to third parties without the express consent of the participant, except where required by law.
Governing Law and Jurisdiction Clause
These terms and conditions and any disputes or claims arising out of or in connection with them, their subject matter or their formation (including non-contractual disputes and claims) will be governed by, and interpreted in accordance with, Spanish law.
For the resolution of any conflict or dispute that may arise in relation to the interpretation, execution and performance of these Legal Terms and Conditions, Aena and the participants expressly submit themselves to the jurisdiction of the Courts of Madrid, waiving any other jurisdiction to which they may be entitled.
